Mike Jordan was born in Hornsea, East Yorkshire. Educated at Hornsea Secondary School and Beverley Grammar followed by 4 years at Huddersfield Polytechnic (now University) studying Chemistry. He  worked in the Chemical Industry as a Shift Chemist and moved to Sherburn in Elmet in 2004.

He is currently a District Cllr for the Carlton and Camblesforth Ward with Cllr Dave Peart

Married to Sally Jordan a Primary School teacher with 2 children both now left home, one working in Ilkley and one as a Paramedic in Leeds

Hobbies consist of restoring old cars (Mk1 Cortina) and motorcycling and cycling.

He has involved himself in local community projects and is pressing for improved services locally in conjunction with fellow local councillors.

District Council activity:

Mike is Chair of Audit . Present work is centred a great deal around Plan Selby and the proper developement of Selby District with a site allocation plan to be developed.

County Council activities:

Mike also serves the South Selby Ward which includes Carlton and Camblesforth and is Chair of the Transport, Environment and Economy Board. He also sits on the Pension Board

Conservative Party Work

Mike also helps with the voluntary side of the party as one of the ‘foot soldiers’ getting out the message on behalf of the party.

Mike is currently getting the message out about the proposed changes at Drax Power Station.
